Coach Recap- KAJ Kelowna Invitational

The KAJ Invitational was held in Kelowna on May 9-11th. We had 19 Sea Lions on Team travel to Kelowna this year. Our Team was fortunate to have Christie (Izzy C's mom), Morgan (Jules B mom) and Gen (Maddy C's mom) as our Chaperones for this trip and without them this team travel would not have been possible!

It was a long meet, involving some very early mornings and long hours on deck and we are so proud of our athletes! They kept their spirits high throughout the meet.

QUALIFIERS:

PROVINCIAL CHAMPS:

• Jules B- achieved her time standard in her 50m Back

PROVINCIAL TRIALS: 

• Berkely C- achieved her time standard in her 50m back

• Izzy C- achieved her time standard in her 50m Breast

• Cameron C- achieved her time standards in her 200free &200mback

• Declan L- achieved his time standard in his 200m back

• Sophia L- achieved her time standards in the 200m medley, 200m breast and 100m free

FESTIVALS:

• Sadie R-L- achieved her time standard in the 200m back

• Emily W- achieved her time standard in the 50m, 100m & 200m breast

HIGHLIGHTS:

Team travel is always a highlight in itself, to watch our swimmers outside of their comfort zones and bonding and making memories as a team. At this meet in Kelowna the highlight for our swimmers is the daily trips to the dip in the lake and our team dinner at Cactus Club  to reveal everyone's secret Psych and to end off a very tiring but successful away meet. 

Another Huge shoutout to our three amazing Chaperones who gave of their time and love over Mothers Day weekend to be with our Sea Lions!
