Coach Recap- Xmas Cracker

Our Sea Lions traveled to Victoria to attend the PCS Christmas Cracker swim meet from December 6-8th. This meet is always a great opportunity for our swimmers to experience competing at a high level meet and staying away from home. It was the first team travel meet for many of our swimmers and we are so proud of how well they handled the very long hours on deck. They kept amazing attitudes and team spirit throughout the weekend. This event kick started the Christmas spirit for our athletes, and we saw tons of amazing races from all of our athletes. We had 23 swimmers attend the event and plenty of personal best swims, and new qualifiers.

PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Juliet B - earned her Provincial Championships time standard in the SC 50 Back

  • Isabelle C - earned her Provincial Championships time standard in the SC 100 Breast and SC 200 Breast

  • Jordan C - earned his Provincial Championships time standard in the SC 50 Free & SC 100 Free

PROVINCIAL TRIALS QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Berkley C - earned an additional qualifying Provincial Trials time standard in the SC 100 Free.

  • Ayla B - earned her Provincial Trials time standard in the SC 50 Back.

  • Stella S - earned her Provincial Trials time standard in the SC 200 Back.

  • Cameron C - earned her Provincial Trials time standard in the 400m Free.

  • Peyton G - earned an additional qualifying Provincial Trials time standard in the SC 50m Back.

  • Declan L - earned his Provincial Trials time standard in the SC 200m Back 

  • Sophia L - earned an additional qualifying Provincial Trials time standard in the SC 50 Free.

  • Vivienne S earned her Provincial Trials time standard in the SC 100 Back.
  • Quinn S earned her additional Provincial Trials time standards in the SC 100 and 200m Breast.

  • Emily W earned her Provincial Trials time standards in the SC 100 and 200m Breast.

FESTIVALS QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Sadie R-L earned her Festivals time standard in the SC 400 Free, SC 100 Back, and SC 200 Back.
  • Maddie M earned her additional Festivals time standards in the SC 50, 100m Fly, 50m Free, and 200m Medley.

CLUB RECORDS 

• Jordan C broke the Sea Lions 16&Over SC 50 Freestyle Record with a time of 24.70

HIGHLIGHTS 

A special shout out to Jordan C for his new Sea Lions Record! Our very own Senior swimmers came up with an amazing Sea Lions Christmas themed chant and won our team second place in the Holiday Cheer Off for the second year in a row. A huge shout out of gratitude to our amazing chaperones Renee and Joy who accompanied us on this trip to ensure all our swimmers were looked after, fed, rested, and loved.

 We are proud of all Sea Lions swimmers and can't wait for the rest of the season!
